Black Cat Clapping
What does Black Cat Clapping mean?
Black Cat Clapping is a 2026 AI-generated meme of a black cat with human-like hands and a wide smile loudly applauding, often green-screened into situations where clapping would be embarrassing.
Black Cat Clapping used in a sentence
“Someone edited the Black Cat Clapping clip into the back of the silent library, and the whole study group lost it.”
This example shows the term in context rather than treating the definition as a literal word-for-word substitution. Slang often depends on tone, audience, and the conversation around it.
How do you use Black Cat Clapping?
The cat is used to mock someone applauding bad behavior, to exaggerate gratitude, or simply for the absurd image of it clapping somewhere it should not, such as during class or while sneaking out. Captions often beg the cat to stop, as in jokes about skipping school.
Where did Black Cat Clapping come from?
Know Your Meme traces the clip to an AI video posted by an Instagram user in late September 2026 showing a cat standing up and clapping after being fed. It became a widespread green-screen meme in late September and October 2026, including claymation and edited versions on TikTok.
